PROCEDURE OF SELECTION
The selection of candidates for appointment to the posts shall be based on the merit in the Written Examination (Conventional)
The minimum qualifying marks for consideration of a candidate to the selection process are 40% for OCs& BCs,35% for SCs, 30% STs and PHCs.
Note: Mere securing of minimum qualifying marks does not confer any right to the candidate for being considered to the selection.
Where the candidates get equal number of marks in the Examination if two or more candidates get equal total number of marks, those candidates shall be bracketed. Candidates within the same bracket shall then be ranked 1, 2, 3 etc., according to age i.e., oldest being considered for selection. In case there is tie in age, the person who possesses educational qualification at earlier date would be considered. However, where the preferential educational qualification is prescribed, the educational qualification will take priority over the age while ranking the candidates with equal marks.
With regard to situation where there is deletion of questions, if any, from any paper, scaling (proportionate increase) would be done for that particulars part of the paper to the maximum marks prescribed for the paper and the marks would be rounded off to 2 decimals to determine the merit of the candidate.

The appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the appropriate medical classification, and if he/she is of sound health, active habits and free from any bodily defect or infirmity.
ANSWER KEY AND MARKS: Answer key would be published on the website and marks of each candidate are also displayed on website. No separate memorandum of marks would be issued.
WEIGHTAGE OF MARKS:
One mark for every completed period of 4 months of satisfactory service rendered as MPEO / MIAO / Field Consultant / Contract Horticulture Officer in the Department of Horticulture to a maximum of 15 marks. The Service Certificate should be issued by the Deputy Director of Horticulture / Project Director, APMIP / Assistant Director of Horticulture of the District concerned. The service rendered for less than 4 months shall be treated as NIL.

Note:- Multiple choice objective type questions will be based on syllabus prescribed for 2 years diploma course in Horticulture by Dr. YSR Horticultural University, Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria
- He / She is of sound health, active habits and free from any bodily defect or infirmity rendering him / her unfit for such service,
- His / Her character and antecedents are such as to qualify him / her for such service,
- He /She possesses the academic and other qualifications prescribed for the post, and
- He / She is a citizen of Andhra Pradesh
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- The candidates having either of the following qualifications are eligible for the post of Village Horticulture Assistant.
- Must Possess 4 years B.Sc Horticulture / B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture of a Recognized University in the State (or) any other University accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt., of India, New Delhi.
- Must Possess 2 years Diploma in Horticulture (from Dr. YSRHU / ANGRAU recognized)
