Telangana School Education Department brought Reforms in Examinations for the classes 9th and 10th Classes from 2022-23 academic year. In the references 1st through 4th read above, orders have been issued for the implementation of examination reforms for classes IX and X from the academic year 2014-15 onwards. In the reference 5th read above, the Director of School Education, Telangana has furnished proposal for certain examination reforms for conducting class IX (Final) and Class X (SSC Public Examinations) for all students studying in schools under different managements in Telangana State i.e., Government, Aided, Local Bodies, recognized private schools etc. After careful examination of the matter and in partial modification of orders issued in the references 1st to 4th read above, Government hereby accord permission to the Director of School Education and the Director of Government Examinations, Telangana, Hyderabad to conduct Class IX (Final) & Class X (SSC Public Examinations) with 6 papers instead of 11 papers duly following the norms mentioned below:-
No. of Papers: To conduct Summative Assessment-I & II for Class IX students and Summative Assessment I & SSC Public Examination for Class X students with 06 papers with equal weightage to all subjects, i.e. 100 marks for each subject with a ratio of 20:80 for Formative Assessments (04) & Summative Assessment-II / SSC Public Examination respectively. However, in case of Science subject, the question paper consists of two parts i.e., Part I - Physical Science and Part –II - Biological Science @ 40 marks each. Separate question papers and answer scripts should be given for both Physical and Biological Sciences.
Duration of Examination time: The duration of examination shall be 3.00 hours for all subjects, which also includes reading time for question paper, except Science. In case of Science paper, the duration shall be 3 hours 20 minutes, i.e. 1 hour 30 minutes for Physical Science and 1 hour 30 minutes for Biological Science, the additional 20 minutes given is for the collection of Physical Science answer scripts and to issue Biological Science Question Paper after completion of Physical Science Examination. In case of composite courses, the duration of examination shall be 3.00 hours 20 minutes i.e. 2 hours for Par-I Telugu (03T) / Urdu (03U) and 1 hour for Part –II
– Sanskrit (04S) / Arabic (05) / Hindi (08H), the additional 20 minutes given is for the collection of Part-I Answer scripts after completion of Part-I Examination and to issue Part-II Examination Question Paper.

Oriental Secondary School Certificate (OSSC) Scheme:-
- Under OSSC Scheme, there are two papers for oriental languages i.e. Sanskrit (Paper-I 23 & Paper-II 24) and Arabic (Paper-I 25 & Paper-II 26) for 200 marks each. The examination shall be conducted in two papers (Paper-I & Paper-II) @100 marks per paper. The Public Examination shall be conducted for 80 marks and 20 marks for formative assessment. The candidate must secure 56 marks out of 160 marks.
- Further, the candidates should also appear for Part - I Languages as per the SSC Public Examinations Scheme. The Public Examination shall be conducted for 80 marks and 20 marks for formative assessment.
- Non-Language Subjects: Candidates should appear in any two out of three non- language subjects of SSC Public Examination. However, the candidate should pass at least in one non-language subject. The Public Examination shall be conducted for 80 marks and 20 marks for formative assessment.
